Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, Lymington, Hampshire, starting October 30th, 2018

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course, Lymington, Hampshire, starting October 30th, 2018

We invite you to rewire your brain for well-being, taking part in an 8- week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) in Lymington, Hampshire, as developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the University of Massachusetts Medical School Centre for Mindfulness.

Stressed? Worrying? Lying awake at night and brooding about what happened during the day? Or just wanting to be more engaged and to find more joy in your life? Rewire your brain for well-being and happiness.

Scientists believe that our brain has a built-in “negativity bias” that helped our species to survive.  As Dr. Rick Hanson, Ph.D. put it: “the brain is like Velcro for negative experiences, but Teflon for positive ones”.

However, new discoveries in neurology about brain plasticity prove that we can decondition ourselves from the negativity bias and build new neuropathways for taking in the good, joy and happiness.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reaction 8-week course was designed to help you literally “rewire” the brain processes that lie at the root of your stress and worry. Each weekly session is a building block in this process. Mindfulness Based Stress Reaction 8-week course can help you take more pleasure in the good things that often go unnoticed or unappreciated, and to deal more effectively with life’s difficulties.

There is an ever-growing body of empirical evidence showing that mindfulness can help us self-regulate our moods and thoughts, become more resilient in the face of stress and challenges, make us more productive and effective, and restore a sense of calm and balance to our lives.

We invite you to join Hampshire Mindfulness Centre for our autumn Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR), taking the time to nourish and take care of yourself.

LOCATION: The course is going to take place in a beautiful venue, at Macdonald Elmers Court & Resort; South Baddesley Road, Lymington, SO41 5ZB, Beaulieu Room.

 CLASS SESSIONS DATES:

Each class session is 2 – 2.5 hours long. The course includes a phone orientation, 8 sessions, and an all-day class. Home practice support materials are included.

Silent Practice Day: as part of the MBSR course, participants are invited to deepen and consolidate practice by joining a Silent Practice Day.  More details will be given during the Orientation phase and preceding weeks of the 8-week course.

What our participants have to say about the course….

“For me, mindfulness has brought to light the importance of taking care of myself. As a carer, mother, wife, since living a mindful life I am calmer and better equipped for a happy life. I feel that if I had not fully immersed myself into the 8-week MBSR course, I would not be feeling the benefit I do today.”CSR

“I really enjoyed the 8-week mindfulness course. It has given me new skills and tools to use within my day to day life, and given me the interest to pursue mindfulness in more depth in the future.” Sophia Barton-Pink

“Accepting myself the way I am, without judging myself harshly all the time, was the greatest gift that this 8-week course gave me.” VC, Assistant Psychologist

“I wholeheartedly recommend this mindfulness course. The facilitators are very supportive, gentle and passionate about the subject. The course is exceptionally well planned and progresses beautifully. I am now confident to meditate on my own, and within this short time, I have noticed so many changes in myself that have brought greater peace and joy.” Health Practitioner
